The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation with regional media, hear the needs of publishers, and discuss current issues related to the Fund&#8217;s activities and support for the press.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Fund&#8217;s Council, Vaiva \u017dukien\u0117, the Deputy Chair, Rasa Navickien\u0117, the Fund&#8217;s Administrative Director, Ruslanas Ir\u017eikevi\u010dius, Senior Project Manager, Reda Sopranait\u0117, and Advisor, Ramona \u017dalakevi\u010dien\u0117.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">During the visit, representatives of Western Lithuania&#8217;s media listened to their observations, expectations, and suggestions for improving the Fund&#8217;s activities. They discussed practical issues faced by publishers when preparing projects for funding by the Fund. The Fund&#8217;s representatives presented the planned changes \u2013 new rules for submitting projects for funding and a special programme being developed to compensate for lost revenue related to restrictions on gambling advertising in the media.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;Such regional meetings help Fund representatives to understand the local media situation better, strengthen mutual dialogue and contribute to the creation of a more transparent, effective and responsive funding model for the media community,&#8221; said Ruslanas Ir\u017eikevi\u010dius, Director of the Media Support Fund.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The meeting also focused on the procedure for publishing content in the Fund&#8217;s content bank, explaining the requirements, the benefits for both publishers and readers, and the opportunities for national dissemination of content.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Fund&#8217;s representatives plan to continue visiting the regions and engaging in direct dialogue with local media communities.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 10 June, representatives of the Media Support Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Fund) Council and administration visited Kretinga, where they met with publishers and editorial representatives of periodicals in the region.
