36 years ago, almost 2 million people joined hands to show the world their unwavering unity, their desire for freedom and their belief in the truth, on the 50th anniversaryof the Ribbentrop-Molotov Act that took away the independence of the Baltic States. It was not only a historic event, but also a statement of values – of the courage to speak out, of responsibility for our future and of communion.
